Welcome to the Thurmont Conservation & Sportsman's Club Pool!
Our 69th season in operation! We are excited to be entering our 69th Operating Season! This welcome letter includes important reminders of our facility, membership and guest polices. More information will be released as the season goes on. Be sure to check back here or at the pool for announcements.
SIGN IN PROCEDURES! All members and guests will be required to sign in upon entering the facility and be verified by the lifeguard as to your season pass status. This will only add a minute or two to your check-in experience. Please be patient and follow all staff instructions. We thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Family Season Passes (TCSC Members) are available from the Lifeguard for $100 and entitles you and your immediate family (please fill out a pool pass form in advance to save time at the pool) to the entire summer at the pool!
Other Fees: All non-card carrying members (guests), those members without a season pass and their family members are $5 per day, paid to the lifeguard upon entering the pool area.
WEATHER: The best way to determine i the facility is open on a cloudy or rainy day is to check THIS page! We reserve the right to close the facility due to inclement weather, low attendance, chemical imbalances or temporary staffing shortages. At least thirty minutes must pass after the last thunderclap is heard or flash of lightning is seen in order for any bodies of water to be reopened as safe for swimming.
SWIM TESTS for the Swimming Pool
The lifeguard reserves the right to test anyone they feel may not meet the safety standards to be in the pool without supervision. (usually everyone under 16 at the beginning of each season)
Swim tests are required for all children less than 42” tall who wish to use the shallow end of the pool.
Shallow Water Swim Test - Swim unaided the width of the pool and back.
Deep Water Swim Test - Jump into the deep end, swim the width of the pool and back, repeat (4 widths of the pool) without touching the sides of the pool and without stopping. Successfully dive from the diving board and swim to the surface once.
We will make every effort to have the lifeguard(s) available to hold swim tests any time; however, there may be instances where tests are not offered due to event schedules or crowdedness of the pool. Lifeguards and management will restrict an individual from using the diving board or deep end of the pool if they cannot do so safely.
Rules: The Pool Rules are posted HERE.
Food & Beverages:
The Lifeguards usually have a supply of beverages, including sodas, Gatorade and canned Ice tea in the office for purchase. In addition, there is usually also a selection of chips, crackers, candy and ice cream available for purchase. Glass containers are not permitted in the pool area and no food, drink or smoking is allowed in the pool itself. Eating should be confined to picnic tables and grass areas under the pavilion. Please refrain from using the pavilion if it is being rented for a private party.
Lost and Found:
Found items may be turned in to the lifeguard. Valuables (sunglasses, jewelry, keys, etc.) will be kept through the end of the season. Clothing, towels, toys and other outdoor items will be kept in a bin in the office. This bin will be emptied on a regular basis. We encourage you to leave your valuables at home. TCSC is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal property of members or their guests. Items may not be left overnight.
