Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 13 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Venturing is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth, adult leaders, and organizations in their communities. Local community organizations establish a Venturing crew by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of exciting and meaningful activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, develop leadership skills, and become good citizens. |

Spring 2021 a new Scouting tradition will be born! The first semiannual Trap Shoot fundraiser at Thurmont Conservation and Sportsman's Club, for Venturing Crew 270 with a portion of the proceeds going to a special charity chosen each year. The semiannual Trap Shoot will provide an exciting celebration of fun and fellowship for up to 180 participants. The day will feature a Trap Shoot tournament, auction, door prizes and a pulled pork BBQ dinner. All proceeds benefit Venturing Crew 270 with a portion going to our pick for this year, the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Your ticket helps sponsor Venturing Crew's mission of leadership & character development programs for their youth.
